A Tranquil, peaceful and intimate spot, beautifully situated in undulating Dorset countryside, with a picturesque lake, broad sweeping lawns and formal gardens.

Civil Weddings

Civil wedding ceremonies allow you to organise your entire day from the ceremony to the reception within one venue.  We are licensed to hold civil ceremonies any day of the week with or without a reception to follow.  We are also licensed to hold Naming Ceremonies, Re-Affirmation of Vows and Commitment Ceremonies.

Suites

The Suite comprised of five rooms –

  • The Grand Entrance Hall
  • The Pengelly Room
  • The Whatmoor Room
  • The Old Library
  • The Conference Hall

The Grand Entrance Hall

It has a high stuccoed ceiling, central chandelier and twin marble fireplaces making it an ideal room in which guests can be greeted with reception drinks and Canapés prior to a meal.

It is particularly impressive in winter or early spring when you and your guests can be welcomed with a glass of mulled wine before a roaring log fire.

The Pengelly Room

Formally the music room is elegantly decorated with hand painted Italian wall paper.  It is entered by the Grand Entrance Hall and has a prime view of the rolling lawn and five-acre Lake.  The Pengelly room can be used for a ceremony for 100 guests or for a sit down meal for 74 Guests.

The Whatmoor Room

The whatmoor room can be used for a ceremony for 50 guests or for a sit down meal for 30 guests, for that smaller intimate occasion.

The Old Library

The Old Library can be used for a ceremony for 50 Guests.  Or for photographs on a rainy day!

The Conference Hall

The Conference Hall can be used for a ceremony for up to 200 guests or for a sit down meal for 140 guests.

The Gardens

While your guests have a drink or two…

Your photographer will be making full use of our gardens, The Lily Pond, the Grecian Temple by the Croquet Lawn, The Pergola or by the Lake.
