One Weekend – Five Wedding Venues Created

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

Last weekend saw team elegance creating five superior wedding venues in Dorset and Wiltshire. The elegance boys started off by delivering all the equipment necessary to create a superior wedding venue (apart from the tent itself) to Dean’s Court House in Wimborne. The team there has just started to hire out the house for weddings and functions this year and information can be found here (http://www.deanscourt.org/).

Next on our hit list was to install the venue for Richard and his bride to be at Birkin House (http://www.birkinhouse.com/), near Dorchester where we are lucky enough to be one of the main suppliers of marquees and event equipment. This marquee had a separate catering tent where Amanda, David and Louise from Merlins Catering (http://www.merlinscatering.co.uk/) were hard at work preparing a feast for the happy event. We also provided all the equipment for the Bar, including chillers and pumps and of course the lovely liquid itself!

Then we were back with Andrew and Alex over looking Poole harbour at Harry Warren House (http://www.harrywarrenhouse.com/) in Studland, this venue must be one of the best if you like your sea views! Aurelia instructed us to install the marquee to the side of the house, a new place for us, as we normally install the marquees in front of the house where its more level. No problem though, using our flooring system we managed, with the help of over 1500 pieces of packing wood, to level the floor and install the marquee. Another catering tent was professionally guttered and ducted to the main marquee and this time the team at Nomad catering (http://www.nomadfood.co.uk/food/)  providing the delicious food.

Moving next to Nothe Fort in Weymouth (http://www.nothefort.org.uk/) and going from an unlevel site to a perfectly level parade ground, although this site still has it’s challenges, and one of them is not to use stakes to anchor the marquee so bang, load on the flooring system boys, another occasion where we were glad that we have invested so much into the flooring and are now the largest stockholder of this type of flooring in Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire! This time the hog roast food was provided by Posh Pigs (http://www.poshpigshogroast.com/)

Lastly, we went to Wiltshire for Becky to install her marquee at Gurston Farm, a new venue for us but the great thing there is that they have a hall which has a kitchen, bar and toilet facilities right next to where the marquee was sited avoiding the need to hire it all in. Best of all was the view to be had over the valley.

Illuminating Honeybrook Farm

Sunday, November 21st, 2010

We are so pleased to be able to work with Rae and Emma, who are the inspiration behind the Anonymous Travelling Market.

The ATM was an idea to support local businesses through the credit crunch, to bring life and colour to the area and remind us all why we’ve chosen to live in this wonderful part of the world. The ATM celebrates the best of the South West, whether it be local food, beer, arts, crafts, small businesses, or live music, our markets are a vibrant place to come, hang out and shop.

We initially were asked to hire our outdoor festoon lights to help create a Christmas atmosphere and to light up the many stands that were on display. This consisted of over 100 lights to be hung in double quick time just before the market opens and to remove as soon as the market finishes.

Here are some dates for you to go and see for yourself or visit their website for more information: http://www.theatm.co.uk/index.php

Marquee Elegance keeps up the pace

Sunday, November 21st, 2010

Wimborne Athletics Club, established in 1982 to promote and encourage participation in recreational and competitive athletics, held an event last weekend known as the Wimborne 10.

The event is a 10 mile road race starting from Pamphill first school, past the outskirts of Sturminster Marshall, through to Shapwick before returning to Pamphill again.

We hired a 3m x12m clear span marquee for the participants to register for the race.

If you would like to get involved with the club, please see their website: http://www.wimborneac.co.uk/index.htm

All Steamed Up!

Monday, June 21st, 2010

We were very pleased to be able once again, to assist Nigel with installing various marquees for the Bournemouth & Poole Steam Show at Canford Arena near Wimborne.

We installed a 9m wide marquee for the main bar with an outside seating area. 3m wide marquees for Entrance / Security / First Aid and a 12m wide marquee where over 60 exhibitors displayed their crafts and models.

We also supplied trestle tables and folding chairs to be used all around the site.

The show, which featured the No limitz motorcycle display team, steam displays, classic vehicles and lots more, was organised by the Bournemouth & Poole Club which started in 1979. For more information about the club, look here  http://www.bppcltd.co.uk/

Stacey & Peter’s Wedding

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

Our friends Stacey and Peter tied the knot this weekend when they got married at Canford Parish Church.

They choose to have their reception at the Horton & Chalbury Village Hall near Horton, Wimborne, Dorset. The stunning barn-style building is now available for hire after just being completed. The large oak floored main hall is around 1,400 sq ft, the Scutt room around 450 sq ft and the kitchen is fully fitted with semi-commercial equipment. For more information on hiring phone 01258 841251.

As the hall only had basic chairs and trestle tables, the Bride and Groom asked us to transform the hall to become more in keeping for a wedding reception. To achieve this we installed our limewash chavari banqueting chairs with round tables covered with our white cotton tablecloths and gold overlays. We also helped with providing glassware and mood LED lighting.
