We needed to get our skates on!

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

We were fortunate enough to assist a local entrepreneur to create two ice rinks, one outside his very own house in Southborne, Dorset and another in Fareham, Hampshire over this Christmas and new year period.

We achieved the outdoor ice rink in Dorset by hiring our wooden flooring system that was installed perfectly level across two front gardens, this was then later covered in ice to provide the surface of the rink. Making sure it was level was paramount and we used over 200 concrete blocks and hundreds of pieces of packing wood to achieve this.

The rink in Fareham was laid directly onto a leveled surface, so the only requirement was a marquee to be used as a temporary cafe, reception area and boot room. We installed a 12m x 30m marquee with panoramic windows facing the ice rink.

There’s SNOW business like the Marquee Hire Business

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

What amazing temperatures we are having at the moment, -25 in some places!

That does not stop us though!  -  We had a job to do and a few flakes of snow are not going to stop us.

A local theme park in Christchurch, Dorset required some extra room for masses of children who will be coming to their Santa’s grotto this weekend and we hired our 6m x 12m clear span marquee to fulfill this requirement. Most importantly through, was the hire of our marquee heater to warm the children up!

Marquee Heating Hire in Hampshire

Friday, November 26th, 2010

Its cold! yep, you would not want to sit in a cold tent now would you? exactly what our client thought and that’s why this morning the elegance boys hired an indirect thermostat controlled heater into, I’m sad to say, someone else’s marquee :@( in a garden in Setley, between Lymington and Brockenhurst in Hampshire. However, what an interior this marquee had! It was lined out with Arabian themed linings, which I have to say looked fantastic! Here is a photo of it, oh, and a piccy of our heater (before being painted in our purple colours)

Marquee Elegance keeps up the pace

Sunday, November 21st, 2010

Wimborne Athletics Club, established in 1982 to promote and encourage participation in recreational and competitive athletics, held an event last weekend known as the Wimborne 10.

The event is a 10 mile road race starting from Pamphill first school, past the outskirts of Sturminster Marshall, through to Shapwick before returning to Pamphill again.

We hired a 3m x12m clear span marquee for the participants to register for the race.

If you would like to get involved with the club, please see their website: http://www.wimborneac.co.uk/index.htm

Frosty Marquee Hire @ Holton Lee

Tuesday, November 16th, 2010

Wow what cold hands we had this morning when the Elegance boys and I went to dismantle our marquee at Holton Lee near Wareham, Dorset.

The marquee was hired for a joint 30th birthday party over the weekend.

As there was lots of frost on the ground and areas of mud the client wisely choose to have the hardwood flooring system in their 9m marquee which had the capacity to accommodate their 150 guests.

Even the smokers at the party felt special by having their own reception canopy area where they could puff away.

We also provided furniture for the party and lighting to illuminate the tent in these lovely dark winter days.

Poole Beer Festival

Monday, November 1st, 2010

SOLD OUT !

These are very common words for the people who organised the Poole Beer Festival on behalf of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ales). Tickets for the two day event held at St Aldhelms Church in Branksome near Bournemouth went fast as this ever popular event drew near.

The festival showcased over 85 real ales and had entertainment from such likes as Lady Winwood’s Maggot.

We hired a 9m marquee to accomodate up to 250 of the thirsty real ale fans coming to the festival, along with matting, lighting trestle tables and lots and lots of chairs. Most importantly, as the event was over a weekend in late October we hired a large thermostat controlled heating system to keep everyone nice and cosy!

Old Alresford Place

Tuesday, October 26th, 2010

Last weekend we were excited to be invited to Old Alresford Place located between Winchester and Alton in Hampshire for their wedding exhibition.

We installed our demo marquee complete with hardwood floor, linings, furniture and catering equipment.

Set amid the tranquil beauty of 5 acres of gardens and grounds, Old Alresford Place, offers a beautiful setting for hire for wedding receptions, family events or other large functions. The Old Dining Room can accommodate up to 50 people; however, by placing a marquee on the adjoining terrace the space is easily extended to allow up to 120 guests. With fifteen recently refurbished en-suite bedrooms (accommodating up to 20 people), you and your family can stay overnight and wake up to the breakfast of your choice

Help! We have been let down by another marquee company…

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

As the title suggests we were called yesterday by Kalem requesting a marquee to be used as an extension to their house in Gosport, Hampshire for their Indian wedding celebrations this weekend after being let down by a less reliable company :@)

We jumped into action and within hours we emailed an order and received payment promptly afterwards. This enabled us to hire a 6m marquee with hardwood flooring, some scattered trestle tables and folding anthracite chairs plus a black candelabra the next morning.

The Elegance boys also wanted me to note that they appreciated the samosa’s and drinks!

Goose Camp 2010

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

Unlike the title suggests, this is not a glorious camping holiday for geese!

It was in fact a massive gathering of scouts, cubs and beavers for a once in four year event that is organised by Dorset Scouts. The venue was their very own camping site ‘Buddens’ which is based just outside Wareham in Dorset.

The event which lasted five days atracted over 17,000 guests! who enjoyed activities like archery, water slides, tunnelling, raft-building and zip-wiring.

The aim of Goose, which stands for Great Outdoor Opportunities for Scouting Experience but is also named after the flock of geese living on-site, is to give Dorset’s Scouting community the chance to make new friends, have fun, learn skills and experience activities that they might miss out on in everyday life.

So how did we assist this event? – Well we provided over 15,000 square feet of covered areas for the different activities  which consisted of mostly our 9m and 12m range of marquees. In addition, we installed a food hall of 5,600 square feet, this had the capacity to accommodate a whopping 900 guests!  Trestle Tables, Folding Chairs and Lighting were amongst other items hired.
