Friday, October 22nd, 2010Even though its October, we are having glorious sunny blue skys most of this week including the day when we saddled up and went to Sturminster Marshall near Blandford in Dorset to install our 9m marquee for Penny’s party.
As there is lots of frost on the ground we installed our innovative hardwood flooring along with ivory roof and wall linings with vivid purple overlays and valances. Most importantly, we also installed two heaters with thermostat controllers to keep guests nice and cosy. Other equipment ordered, bar counters, coat rails, anthracite folding chairs, 6ft round tables, litedeck staging and cream candelabras.
After the installation was completed, the client requested a reception canopy at the entrance to the marquee, we of course were happy to oblige and installed this a few days later
Goose Camp 2010
Friday, September 3rd, 2010Unlike the title suggests, this is not a glorious camping holiday for geese!
It was in fact a massive gathering of scouts, cubs and beavers for a once in four year event that is organised by Dorset Scouts. The venue was their very own camping site ‘Buddens’ which is based just outside Wareham in Dorset.
The event which lasted five days atracted over 17,000 guests! who enjoyed activities like archery, water slides, tunnelling, raft-building and zip-wiring.
The aim of Goose, which stands for Great Outdoor Opportunities for Scouting Experience but is also named after the flock of geese living on-site, is to give Dorset’s Scouting community the chance to make new friends, have fun, learn skills and experience activities that they might miss out on in everyday life.
So how did we assist this event? – Well we provided over 15,000 square feet of covered areas for the different activities which consisted of mostly our 9m and 12m range of marquees. In addition, we installed a food hall of 5,600 square feet, this had the capacity to accommodate a whopping 900 guests! Trestle Tables, Folding Chairs and Lighting were amongst other items hired.
Swanage Jazz Festival
Friday, July 23rd, 2010If you went down to Swanage last week you were sure to find a BIG surprise!
We had installed both our 9m marquees and 12m marquee for the 21st Swanage Jazz Festival which is held in several venues in the town as well as three temporary “superior” venues supplied by us.
Our marquees provided a venue for over 800 seated guests to enjoy all the different types of Jazz from New Orleans, Dixieland, swing, bop, and post bop, ‘contemporary’ and bands that simply defy classification.
The festival is a non profit making organisation run by a group of fans. Lots more information can be found at www.swanagejazz.org.uk

Heard the latest?
At Holton Lee, near Wareham this week saw the Connect 2010, a five-day teaching and worship event where hundreds of people of all ages can connect and grow together in Word and Spirit.
But shortly before a team of 6 Elegance boys invaded the site to install the two main marquees, one being 150 feet long. This involved more than 10 tonnes of equipment being delivered and erected, and over 600, yes, 600 folding chairs for worshipers to sit on. We also installed blackout linings, a huge 35 sq metre litedeck stage, plasma screens, lighting, cabling and laid over 5o rolls of polypropylene matting.
Buckhorn Western Cricket Club Ball
Wednesday, June 30th, 2010On a hot day in Buckhorn Western near Gillingham, we installed our 12m range marquee complete with a 6m extension to accommodate bar facilities for the local cricket club annual ball.
Of course, we also installed our innovative flooring system for the whole marquee, that’s over 240 boards to lay and 8 tonnes of equipment to install – all in one day! – once again a great job done by the Elegance boys.
We also installed our litedeck staging system, basic chandelier lighting and 200 anthrasite folding chairs.

Kingston Maurward Country Fair & Open Day
Friday, June 25th, 2010We were very pleased to be able to assist Jemma and her team with providing a temporary venue for the Kingston Maurward annual country fair / open day, near Dorchester.
We installed 11 seperate structures around the site for the various departments to give advice for those looking to start a new career or just learn a new skill. Our 9m and 6m range of marquees were perfectly suited to this task.
The college is home to some 400 students and offers over 300 full time and part time courses. Well known for its rural and land based subjects, there are courses for everyone including outdoor adventure, equine, IT and business related studies. Those interested in the college visit www.kmc.ac.uk
We also installed our hardwood flooring system in one of the marquees for a cookery demonstration and provided trestle tables, matting and folding chairs as well.

We were very pleased to be able once again, to assist Nigel with installing various marquees for the Bournemouth & Poole Steam Show at Canford Arena near Wimborne.
We installed a 9m wide marquee for the main bar with an outside seating area. 3m wide marquees for Entrance / Security / First Aid and a 12m wide marquee where over 60 exhibitors displayed their crafts and models.
We also supplied trestle tables and folding chairs to be used all around the site.
The show, which featured the No limitz motorcycle display team, steam displays, classic vehicles and lots more, was organised by the Bournemouth & Poole Club which started in 1979. For more information about the club, look here http://www.bppcltd.co.uk/
Harley Davidson Rally & More…
Tuesday, May 18th, 2010Two marquees, two locations, two very pleased clients!
Firstly we installed our 9m range of marquee for a motorcycle rally at Lodmoor Park near Weymouth. Thousands of Harley Davidson bikes and their riders made their way from all around the county to the venue to listen to music and show their bikes.
We also installed our 12m range of marquee to a local holiday park near Poole which needed a superior venue for over 250 guests for an exclusive owners party. Guests were seated on folding chairs and sat around our 6ft Round Tables which comfortably accommodates 10 guests each.
One part of their entertainment was Bucks Fizz who delighted guests on top of our new 2010 litedeck stage.
We also welcomed our newest team member Chris who is pictured here next to the marquee. When asked by me whether he could make this installation successful, he replied: “It’s in the bag”
