All Steamed Up!

June 21st, 2010

We were very pleased to be able once again, to assist Nigel with installing various marquees for the Bournemouth & Poole Steam Show at Canford Arena near Wimborne.

We installed a 9m wide marquee for the main bar with an outside seating area. 3m wide marquees for Entrance / Security / First Aid and a 12m wide marquee where over 60 exhibitors displayed their crafts and models.

We also supplied trestle tables and folding chairs to be used all around the site.

The show, which featured the No limitz motorcycle display team, steam displays, classic vehicles and lots more, was organised by the Bournemouth & Poole Club which started in 1979. For more information about the club, look here  http://www.bppcltd.co.uk/

Mike’s Wedding in Studland

June 6th, 2010

We are having a really busy week this week, and here is the first event for your viewing.

Mike got in touch with us earlier this year requiring a marquee with a separate catering area in a stunning location in Studland near Swanage overlooking Poole Harbour.

We installed our 12m range of marquees to accommodate 110 guests in comfort on our Limewash Chavari banqueting chairs and round tables. There was also a large open area used for reception drinks and later dancing and entertainment. Apart from our candelabras and mood lighting, the client also organised a large truss with lighting and smoke machines for his guests to enjoy.

Other equipment arranged and installed included coat rails, easel, trailer toilets, trailer generator with distribution and hardwood doors.

Poole Regatta 2010

May 29th, 2010

Hi Friends,

Did you see our marquee on Poole Quay this weekend?

We had one of our 6m marquees opposite the marina office for the Poole Regatta 2010 as an information point.

Also at Parkstone Yacht Club, the main festivities were held in our 9m marquee which had a 3m catering pod joined to the main tent.

They were both installed on top of our hardwood flooring system so that tables were nice and level :o )

Rebecca’s Wedding at Nothe Fort

May 29th, 2010

Thanks to Rebecca for choosing Marquee Elegance to provide one of our 9m range of marquees at Nothe Fort near Weymouth / Portland.

Firstly we installed our hardwood flooring system followed by the marquee fitted out with a pure ivory color coordinated interior. Rebecca also choose to have 5ft round tables with white linen and champagne top table covers surrounded by limewash chavari banqueting chairs.

We also provided additional equipment from easels, lighting, crockery (dinner plates / desert bowls / tea & coffee pots), cutlery and glassware to a 3m refrigerated trailer.

What a view from the top of Nothe Fort:

Iveco Elegance

May 29th, 2010

What an exciting and long day we had last week when Jos and I left the depot on a cross country train to travel 4 1/2 hours to collect our newest addition to the Marquee Elegance fleet of specialist vehicles.

This Iveco daily is the largest capacity vehicle of its class, with twin rear wheels, perfect for towing and travelling over grassy fields!

Its 180 hp engine means it can tow 7 tonnes of event equipment with ease.

Here is some photos pre going for its livery next week.

Poole Audi

May 20th, 2010

We have been very secretive this week,

We were tasked to attach one of our 9m marquees alongside a prestigious car dealership in Poole. The occasion was the product launch of the new Audi A8 at Poole Audi.

The marquee was used to hide the cars before they were driven through black curtains and dry ice into the dealership where invited guests were waiting on our limewash chavari banqueting chairs.

We also provided trestle tables and associated linen and installed a full blackout lining so noone could get a sneak preview.

The challange with this event was to erect the marquee without using stakes. Whilst we would normally use our hardwood flooring system to overcome this problem it was not practical and so ballast tanks were used to ratchet the marquee in situ.

Harley Davidson Rally & More…

May 18th, 2010

Two marquees, two locations, two very pleased clients!

Firstly we installed our 9m range of marquee for a motorcycle rally at Lodmoor Park near Weymouth. Thousands of Harley Davidson bikes and their riders made their way from all around the county to the venue to listen to music and show their bikes.

We also installed our 12m range of marquee to a local holiday park near Poole which needed a superior venue for over 250 guests for an exclusive owners party. Guests were seated on folding chairs and sat around our 6ft Round Tables which comfortably accommodates 10 guests each.

One part of their entertainment was Bucks Fizz who delighted guests on top of our new 2010 litedeck stage.

We also welcomed our newest team member Chris who is pictured here next to the marquee. When asked by me whether he could make this installation successful, he replied: “It’s in the bag”

Stacey & Peter’s Wedding

May 9th, 2010

Our friends Stacey and Peter tied the knot this weekend when they got married at Canford Parish Church.

They choose to have their reception at the Horton & Chalbury Village Hall near Horton, Wimborne, Dorset. The stunning barn-style building is now available for hire after just being completed. The large oak floored main hall is around 1,400 sq ft, the Scutt room around 450 sq ft and the kitchen is fully fitted with semi-commercial equipment. For more information on hiring phone 01258 841251.

As the hall only had basic chairs and trestle tables, the Bride and Groom asked us to transform the hall to become more in keeping for a wedding reception. To achieve this we installed our limewash chavari banqueting chairs with round tables covered with our white cotton tablecloths and gold overlays. We also helped with providing glassware and mood LED lighting.

Cold? Not in this tent!

May 9th, 2010

Hello Everyone,

Imagine, your wedding day is tomorrow and the weather turns chilly and your guests are coming to your tent. That’s the dilemma Gemma and Dan had last Friday when they gave us a call.

The challagne was on! Even though they needed are Indirect Thermostat Controlled Heaters the next day, we were able to assist. The photo shows the unit providing hot warm air through the ducting into their tent. (Not supplied by us :0( )

The location was Sheldon Manor near Chippenham, Wiltshire. Yes it’s not only Dorset – now we have a growing list of Elegance friends in Wiltshire! The tranquility of Sheldon Manor makes it a perfect setting for small weddings or other special occassions.
