That’s all Folks!

Sunday, July 24th, 2011

We were extremely delighted to once again secure the contract for the Swanage Folk Festival where we created two of their venues (the most superior in my mind!) at their usual picturesque site overlooking the sea in Swanage, Dorset.

We supplied on hire two 12m structures and three entrance / storage “pods” as well as 800 folding chairs and three stages.

The Dorset Wildlife Trust..ed us to install early in the morning two marquees to be used in their community event where the public enjoyed a range of activities and learnt about all sorts of wildlife. The event was held in The Marsh in Blandford Dorset.

New stock of Folding Chairs

Sunday, June 26th, 2011

We have now taken delivery of a further 1200 Folding Chairs making us now the largest stockholder of furniture to hire in Dorset! …. probably :@)

So if your holding an event that requires bums to be comfortable then sit down and relax with us!!!

If you go down to the woods today… You will find an Elegance surprise

Sunday, June 19th, 2011

Elegance boys Chris and Ashley were in charge to install this marquee in Lyndhurst, Hampshire for the New Forest National Park. It just goes to show what you find “down in the woods”.

It was for Bioblitz an event run by the New Forest National Park Authoritiy. With the help of experts and the public it was 24 hours of activities to record as many species of wildlife as we could. We managed just under 400!

Our client said; “The marquee was great, thanks, especially with all those showers!”

Parkstone Wedding Reception

Sunday, June 19th, 2011

A very unusual garden was the venue for a wedding reception in Parkstone, Dorset.

Unusual as it was on different levels and odd angles and it even had a very sharp drop to contend with, however, one thing it did have was a brilliant view of Poole Harbour and beyond to the Purbecks. To take advantage of those views, we installed our panoramic window walls.

We were tasked with installing a 6m wide marquee as the main dining area, although a corner of the marquee was hanging over the edge of the sloped garden, although combining the marquee with our award winning hardwood flooring meant that we could do this safely!

MAY DAY MAY DAY

One of the clients own gazebos blew over and was damaged the day before the big day, so last minute we were called to come back to the site to install a 6m x 3m marquee on the patio to provide more covering for guests. – Thanks Elegance Ashley for dropping everything and coming to the rescue!!

We also created the wow factor inside the marquees by hiring our new spandex table covers in Black for the large round tables and White for the poseur bar tables.

Kingston Maurward Open Day

Friday, June 17th, 2011

Kingston Maurward Open Day and Country Fair was held on campus last week where visitors could come along to the college to see what they have to offer right from the individual courses to a wedding venue and to enjoy fun activities for all the family.

We were asked to install 16 structures from the smallest 3m x 3m to the largest 9m x 12m which was being used for cookery demonstrations.

Bournemouth Summer Ball

Friday, June 17th, 2011

If your having 7000 student’s around for your ball, your going to need a bar or two or even four, one being 110 feet long!! Not to mention first aid centres, crew areas and entrance marquees and this is exactly what the Elegance crew of Ashley, Chris, Dom, Sean and Taylor installed for Bournemouth University last week.

The sun was shining on installation but when it came to the de rig, rain rain and more rain came down on us – just goes to show we plough on in all weathers!

Ringwood Reception

Saturday, May 28th, 2011

If you wanted to have your reception at the local Inn and they did’nt quite have enough room then let us come along and extend their facilities! that’s exactly what the Elegance boys Chirs and Ashley did this weekend at the Elm Tree Inn near Ringwood, Hampshire.

Using the Inn’s hall as the place for the dancing and entertainment meant that the marquee was free to set up the tables and chairs for the reception itself.

We were able to install their marquee right on the car park thanks to our innovative flooring, complete with a Blue and Ivory interior theme.

One Weekend – Five Wedding Venues Created

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

Last weekend saw team elegance creating five superior wedding venues in Dorset and Wiltshire. The elegance boys started off by delivering all the equipment necessary to create a superior wedding venue (apart from the tent itself) to Dean’s Court House in Wimborne. The team there has just started to hire out the house for weddings and functions this year and information can be found here (http://www.deanscourt.org/).

Next on our hit list was to install the venue for Richard and his bride to be at Birkin House (http://www.birkinhouse.com/), near Dorchester where we are lucky enough to be one of the main suppliers of marquees and event equipment. This marquee had a separate catering tent where Amanda, David and Louise from Merlins Catering (http://www.merlinscatering.co.uk/) were hard at work preparing a feast for the happy event. We also provided all the equipment for the Bar, including chillers and pumps and of course the lovely liquid itself!

Then we were back with Andrew and Alex over looking Poole harbour at Harry Warren House (http://www.harrywarrenhouse.com/) in Studland, this venue must be one of the best if you like your sea views! Aurelia instructed us to install the marquee to the side of the house, a new place for us, as we normally install the marquees in front of the house where its more level. No problem though, using our flooring system we managed, with the help of over 1500 pieces of packing wood, to level the floor and install the marquee. Another catering tent was professionally guttered and ducted to the main marquee and this time the team at Nomad catering (http://www.nomadfood.co.uk/food/)  providing the delicious food.

Moving next to Nothe Fort in Weymouth (http://www.nothefort.org.uk/) and going from an unlevel site to a perfectly level parade ground, although this site still has it’s challenges, and one of them is not to use stakes to anchor the marquee so bang, load on the flooring system boys, another occasion where we were glad that we have invested so much into the flooring and are now the largest stockholder of this type of flooring in Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire! This time the hog roast food was provided by Posh Pigs (http://www.poshpigshogroast.com/)

Lastly, we went to Wiltshire for Becky to install her marquee at Gurston Farm, a new venue for us but the great thing there is that they have a hall which has a kitchen, bar and toilet facilities right next to where the marquee was sited avoiding the need to hire it all in. Best of all was the view to be had over the valley.

Elegance does Art

Tuesday, May 17th, 2011

We were asked by successful art gallery company Black Sheep (http://www.blacksheepgalleries.com/) to provide an area where their guests could be welcomed and given a glass of champagne before coming into their Romsey shop and meeting the artist Fabian Perez. Due to the site restrictions, the largest marquee we could hire was our smallest, a 3m x 3m on our flooring system.” The event was so successful we had queues right down the high street” said a spokesman for Black Sheep.
